Lake Carl Blackwell History
The area includes 3,350 acres of beautiful lake and 53 miles of shoreline as well as an 800-acre recreation area owned and operated by Oklahoma State University. Fishing, camping, boating, skiing and sailing are permitted on the lake. It offers excellent hybrid striper fishing, catfish and crappie.

Campgrounds and picnic areas are available year round with 48 electric hookups, 35 improved sites, 33 primitive sites, boat ramps, picnic areas, outdoor grills, restrooms, sanitary dump station, group shelter, canoe and hiking trails, archery range, and equestrian camp. Cabins are available in the summer months. Swimming is permitted all around the lake, although there are two sites with buoys.

A 14 inch length limit on largemouth bass was imposed in 1991.
