Lake Ellsworth History

Although Oklahoma's current rod-and-line state-record blue catfish comes from Lake Texoma, the previous record came right here out of Lake Ellsworth. It was an 85-pound, 4-ounce whopper that was caught in 1999 by angler Dale Dennis.

Lake Ellsworth offers more than just fishing. There's also hunting, water recreation, camping, off-road vehicles on the 5,600 acres and 43 miles of shoreline. There are 41 shelters with electricity, primitive sites, restrooms, showers, swimming, sanitary dump station, grocery, restaurant, outdoor grills, pcinic areas, boat ramps/docks, fuel.
