Lake Spavinaw, Oklahoma Facts & Features
Spavinaw Dam impounded crystal-clear Spavinaw Creek, a perennial stream that drains a 400 square mile area of the Ozarks. The dam, completed in 1924, created a lake with a surface area of 1,673 acres and a 20 mile long shoreline.

Lake Spavinaw, Oklahoma State Park
 Spavinaw State Park is a small, quiet state park located on Spavinaw Creek just below the dam on the western end of Spavinaw Lake, a 1,636 acre fishing-only lake with 20 miles of shoreline. The park offers visitors camping, fishing, picnic areas, and swimming.
Nearby Spavinaw Wildlife Management Area offers opportunities for hunting and hiking. Picnic facilities include 50 tables and a group shelter. Camping facilities in the park include 26 RV sites with water and electric hookups, 60 regular sites with no utilities, 2 comfort stations, 1 with showers, a playground and swimming beach. Families with small children especially enjoy this park for the shallow water in the swimming area.
