Topwater Action
The lake is several feet high and is still rising. This has brought a lot of the biguns' right up into the weeds early in the am, and right before dark, the same thing. This has brought on some really good topwater action a little earlier than usual this year, and I for one, don't intend to miss any of it!!

We are still catching limits daily on live bait but now we are doing well enough on topwaters to let everyone know it's time to do that, if that's what they are after!!!

Now is the time for a trophy, if that is what you are after!

Hungry Stripers!
Old Texoma has come alive again with Stripers back from the spawn and mighty hungry!! We are catching limits early every morning on live baits and have had our best success for the catching several bigger fish afterwards, on thundersticks. For the guys that like to troll we are catching some nice ones on secoundary points (20ft) inside main creek bends and roadbeds at the right depth.

It is shaping up to be an outstanding year both for the fishing, and our books, which are nearly full (weekends) through June, with only a few singles (Fri. or Sun.) left. We have lots of weekdays and we can make room on occasion for an afternoon trip when it's necessary.

Smallmouth on the Bite!
Yesterday was a good smallmouth bass day! These are a few of the over twenty smallies that we caught along with several black bass.

Most of them looked as if they are post spawn so this bite won't last but a couple of weeks longer.

Now is the time for a trophy, if that is what you are after!

Spring has Sprung!
The stripers are going up the river, the crappie are up the creeks and the smallmouth are on the beds - Lord how can it get any better?

I can't remember a time in 14 years that it has been this good! The fish are fat and the lake is full. It looks really good for this season especially when I look at the reservation book - it is filling up faster than ever!

Monster Cats Are Biting!
This is being written during the biggest blue norther's of the year and boy is it cold! But the fishing last week was awfully good!!

The stripers and the catfish are really on the bite the last few days and this trend will continue until the water temp gets below 40 degrees. In the meantime, we're gonna enjoy the great winter bite that Texoma is famous for!

As a reminder, be prepared for the elements when booking your winter trips. Make sure to have proper raingear that will keep you dry (head-to-toe) and make sure it fits comfortably over all your warm winter wear.

Cooler Days, Bigger Fish!
The cooler it gets, the bigger the fish get!!! We have had some terrific fishing the last two weeks with all the fronts and cloudy days it;s just been great !!

Hawg Shad & Sassy Shad are already working under the birds & that's my favorite presentation for artificials because for one reason the single hook is quicker to pull out and secondly because they work so good shallow or deep.

The fishing will just get better for the next few weeks so it's a good time to book your fall fishing trip and save on your lodging with our winter special that starts Nov. 15th with free lodging for groups of four or more through Feb. 15th

Big Fish Biting
Fall is finally here! The cooler weather and cloudy-rainy days have the big fish back on the bite and boy have we been having fun the past couple of weeks! The topwater bite has been as good as it gets. I've never seen it so good.

We are catching daily limits on both live bait and on artificials (both topwaters & spoons) - whichever suits your fancy - we will try to accommodate you. The fishing and the weather are great, so...

Stripers Feeding Heavily
The summer heat spell is broken. Cooler days and nights have dropped the water temperature 10 degrees. The fish enjoy the fall and winter cool down. They begin schooling in large numbers and feed heavily.

Live bait is always a good option. Top waters, jigs and slabs can be just as effective this time of year. Cloudy days during the week remain the best. Don't miss fall and winter fishing, it is one of the best times of the year.

Daily limits up to 10 lbs!
The fish are still biting good, with daily limits up to 10 lbs and this week we had three fish in the teens (all on bait). The main lake, outside river bends, seem to be holding fish, in and around the ditches dumping into the river.

The topwater action is still getting better, especially on the cloudier days, and very early! It seems this week they went on to chrome colors more than usual especially chrome and blue. This is the time for chunkin' topwaters so bring your favorite casting rod and...

The fishing is still very good!
The fishing is still very good for as hot as it is, usually by now the fishing is starting to slack off but this year we have had just enough rain and just a slight cool off last week which has kept the bite very good. We also have a lot of bait in the lake this year and as a result the fish are fat and healthy which has kept them stronger during the summer heat.

We are still catching daily limits with fish up to the 8-10 lb. range. The bite is still strong early till about 11am with lots of top water action especially in the "Two Rivers" and "Tabletop" areas. If top water action is your thing bring your favorite casting rod.

The fishing is still great!
The fishing is still great, with basically the same pattern in place as in my previous report, except that the fish have moved on into the main pool, specifically the "Table Top area". The good news is that as the fish make this move there will be more and more topwater action; and for those who like to "troll" the downrigging is working better every day.

I would like to say "thanks" to Dr. Paul Mauch for his Hawg Blawg contribution on "handling big fish". This is must reading for all fishermen because the only thing in the world that can compare to catching a "big" fish is releasing one!

Lots of sun and lots of fun!
Stripers are giving us about 2-3 hours of awesome action first thing in the morning in the Preston peninsula area. Top water baits (large & green) are the best for the first 45 minutes for big fish. Then as the light drives them down, live bait (5-6" shad) seems to take charge producing lots of fish (2-10lbs.) for the next couple of hours. By 10-10:30am, for the past several days, the fish suspend and the bite, for the most part, is over until late afternoon.

We are still having trouble catching our "smaller fish" and we are releasing several bigger fish every morning. This practice injures a ton of fish every day; and I would like to stress to everyone how good "circle hooks" work at "lip" hooking fish instead of the dreaded "gut hookup". This allows for a released fish to have way less injuries and a much better chance for survival! I have been using circle hooks for a long time, and personally think it should be law that we use circle hooks or barbless hooks in all live bait situations; but that's just my opinion. I firmly believe in catch and release and wish people would try to do more of it !! We will talk more about that later.

The fishing is great!
We are catching limits daily on all the bait fishing trips. Our biggest problem is too many big fish. We are struggling to get limits because we are running out of bait before we catch enough little fish. As for the top water bite, it is getting better daily. These last 3-4 days have been cloudy and cool which has turned the big fish on. The better fish seem to be on early, AM, top water baits (big pencil poppers). Seems like wind swept, main lake, rocks are holding the best fish. We are smack in the middle of one of our best seasons ever. Don't miss out on the hot summer action.

Perfect Fishing Weather!
We have received 12+" of rain the past 3 weeks. Both rivers are bulging & it's always good for the lake & fishing. The Big News, the "Striper capitol of the World" has just had its best spawn ever! The rain came, at the right time, in right amount to let the fish stay & play long enough to "complete their mission". We should start seeing "ka-jillions" of little "Silver Bullets" in the next few weeks. Most of the first "spawners" are returning to the lake now & over the next few weeks the fishing will get better as the fish recuperate and get back to their normal feeding habits. We are catching daily limits w/fish up to 6lbs. The threadfin shad is spawning & will move shallow to feed on the shad fry. This will "turn the whole lake on" and the summer bite will begin! Big top waters in back of the the pockets along the main lake are working right now for our big fish. Later in the day, drifting shallow flats (25ft) w/live shad (4-6"). Don't miss the summer bite! Call now, get your name in the book and

Finally-the Spawn has begun-with the last rain alot of our big fish went up river & over the next few weeks, depending on the rains, the rest of them will hopefully will be able to do the same. We are still catching limits daily, on both live bait and crank baits, depending on which style of fishing you perfer. I am catching bigger fish it seems on the large fire tiger thundersticks, trolled fast across 25ft points and roadbed structures.

The BIG story right now, however, is the Smallmouth Bass!! They are moving into the " bedroom" so if you'd like to put a trohpy on the wall now is the time to do it !?! We will be catching some VERY big Smallmouth for the next few weeks so call me if you would like to participate and

We finally had cold weather, then rain, today its 85 degrees and tomorrow more chance of rain! All of the above has made for some excellent fishing the last two weeks. The fish have finally moved all the way to the headwaters and have completed their staging migration. This means that until the spring rains the fish will stay bunched up untill its time to go up river on their spawning run. Until then the fishing will be great, especially on the cloudy days. Sometimes they will bite all day when the conditions are right. We are still catching lots of big cats and stripers up to 10 lbs. daily. Live shad is working the best for the cats, but right now chartreuse sassy shads and red head jigs are best for the bigger stripers. All these fish are gathered at the headwaters from about 45 ft. deep all the way to the silt bed. All in all the fishing has been good and seems to be getting better daily.

62LB Monster Blue Catfish

January and February is my favorite time of year because these two months, every year, have produced the biggest fish of that year and has been a fact the entire thirteen years of my professional career. I guess maybe the bigger fish just bite better when there is less traffic and this time of year we have the lake virtually to ourselves! The short sleeve weather we have been having has given us some great fishing for the first week of this year. So far we are landing stripers up to 8 lbs. every day. The bigger stripers are being finicky thus far but they are sure to start staging and fattening up for the spawn run soon, and when they do I'll be talking about them alot. This week I've been doing our combination trips (striper & catfish). We have caught fish over 30 lbs. every day this week, all of which were released. The most photogenic was our biggest at 62 lbs. so I felt I had to show ya'all a picture instead of just braggin'. The bite is good, the weather is great, so grab a fishing buddy and
