Lake Eufaula is located on the Canadian River, 27 miles upstream from its confluence with the Arkansas River. With over 600 miles of shoreline and 102,000 surface acres, Lake Eufaula offers a variety of recreational opportunities for everyone.

Lake Eufaula has been listed as seventh place overall as one of Oklahoma's Top 25 Bass Lakes. Lake Eufaula is also considered as a Top 10 crappie lake.
The shoreline ranges from vast expanses of sandy beaches to rocky bluffs. Boaters traveling through the Standing Rock area can admire the beauty that was admired by Spanish explorers.
Oklahoma's largest man-made lake, Lake Eufaula, was completed in 1964 for water control for flooding and water level for the Arkansas River Waterway. The lake covers much of McIntosh and Pittsburg County and is a fabulous tourist and resort attraction with two beautiful theme type lodges.
Eufaula Lake, 15th largest in the United States and is known as the "Gentle-Giant." With excellent fishing available on the lake year round, spring and fall are the most beautiful time of year to fish because of the spectacular scenery of Southeast Oklahoma.

Lake Eufaula's annual Crappiefest is a tagged crappie tournament that lasts for two months. Over 1000 tagged crappie are distributed around the lake with each having a tag indicating a cash value and who sponsored the fish. Cash prizes from $25 to $50,000 and a new Blue Wave Boat with Yamaho Motor and custom trailer.
Lake Eufaula Area Attractions
Arrowhead State Park
Arrowhead State Park is located on a peninsula of Lake Eufaula, one of the largest manmade lakes in the Southwest. Accommodations include a group camp (sleeps 144) with kitchen and bunkhouses, equestrian campground, RV sites and tent sites. Picnic shelters and group locations, marina, playgrounds, trails, miniature golf course and a swimming area also on site. Arrowhead Golf Course, an 18-hole course with putting green, driving range and pro shop is also on the property. 18 miles north of McAlester, Oklahoma on Highway 69, then 4 miles east on State Park Road.

Eufaula State Park (Fountainhead)

Lake Eufaula State Park is surrounded on three sides by the lake. Visitors can enjoy RV and tent camping, an 18-hole golf course with putting green and pro shop, indoor and outdoor fishing dock, picnic areas, group facilities, swim beach, hiking and nature trails, nature center, hayrides and all watersports. This park was previously known as Fountainhead State Park. From I-40, go 14 miles southwest on Highway 150.

Robbers Cave State Park (east)
Robbers Cave State Park is located in the scenic, hilly woodlands of the San Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma. A favorite of rappellers, equestrians, hikers and outdoor lovers, Robbers Cave enjoys notoriety as a former hideout for outlaws. The park and adjoining wildlife management area offers acres of discovery and enjoyment including trout fishing in season, boating, hunting, trails for hikers and horses, sandstone cliffs for climbing and rappelling, and fall foliage viewing. RV and tent campsites, and equestrian campsites are also available. Picnic tables, comfort stations with showers, boat ramps, a swimming beach, swimming pool with bathhouse, playgrounds, miniature golf, hiking trails, paddleboat rentals, and a nature center with naturalist programs/exhibits round out the park's facilities.
