Pine Creek Dam is located on Little River, once part of the Choctaw Indian Nation, is approximately eight miles north of Valliant in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. The lake extends into Choctaw and Pushmataha Counties.
Fort Towson, a few miles southwest of the lake, was established in 1824.
Pine Creek Lake is a 5,000 acre lake which offers a relaxed atmosphere and excellent boating and fishing activities.
Opportunities for sightseers and nature lovers are many at Pine Creek. The forest resources of the project are managed to improve the scenic quality of the park areas and adjoining land and create additional interest in trails for hiking, horseback riding, and exploration.
The high ratio of shoreline length to water area at Pine Creek Lake is conductive to good fish production.
